Quality

“The customer’s need, our responsibility” – these words sum up CMP’s quality policy. In concrete terms, this means that the company seeks to handle goods and perform services in a way that meets the needs and expectations of its customers and other stakeholders. CMP also seeks to continuously improve the services it provides. Another objective is to ensure that the company adheres to a high standard in communications with regulators and complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Internally, CMP’s quality and environmental management activities are integrated in the same organisation and management system with a central unit that draws up guidelines and policies which are then translated into customised targets in the corporate functions and business areas.

CMP’s quality activities are of a high standard, as confirmed by the company’s competitive damage costs. In car distribution, for instance, CMP’s costs are below the market average and in RoRo traffic damage costs are very low. Yet quality assurance is a continuous process that involves constant fine-tuning. As part of its efforts to continuously raise standards of quality, CMP continually develops new initiatives to increase customer satisfaction. Examples of this include our focus on reducing damages in order to improve quality. The company’s in-house quality management system comprises the following measurable quality targets:

    • Evaluation of cruise ship calls – customer satisfaction
    • Increased unloading and loading capacity
    • Reduction of emergency maintenance work on cranes, workshops Malmö
    • Reduction of damage, containers Copenhagen and Malmö
    • Reduction of damage to cars, unloading/loading of car ships and other car handling
    • Reduction of damage costs, goods handling, RoRo and logistics department Malmö

In practice, CMP’s quality activities involve following up all instances of damage and all discrepancies. These are systematically documented and analysed to ensure that new damage-limiting and preventive measures become a natural part of our day-to-day activities.
